DAY FIFTEEN: all together
Today was a meeting day. All the American teachers and the ILEP teachers (Brazilians who spent a semester in the USA and have returned, some of whom were our host teachers) met to talk about what we can do to collaborate and create projects for our classes that have global themes. It was nice to talk to teachers from around Brazil, and to hear about their experiences in the United States. Francisli was here and told me that since we had been sitting all day, I should go with her to the June Festivals after our meetings ended. So many people! There are about six hours of shows on the main stage each night, with some of Brazil's most famous singers. On the side streets there are also local singers, who are set up at bars throughout the city. There is something for everyone, as long as you don't mind being in a huge group of people. It was fun, but after awhile I was happy to leave the crowds.
